Woah, woah woah. Hold up. I know what you’re thinking.

You: It’s Thursday. You don’t post on Thursday. I can’t… the room is spinning. *frantically takes hit off inhaler* Are you falling off the wagon, Asher? This isn’t consistent!

No, my good sir/madam/sir-madam/etc. I am even more on the wagon than ever before. I AM the wagon. Melded with it from the waist down.

And there are a lot of things that wagon-me can’t do… so with all of my freed up time, I’m adding a day to my blogging schedule.

So welcome to the first installment of Quoth the Raven.

The raven from Edgar Allen Poe's immortal work, The Raven. In this image, the raven is delivering the poem's famous line, "Shut the fuck up." How insightful. A lesson for all of us.
I will not be silenced!

Quoth the Raven is simply a quote and picture day. On this day (which will be every Thursday, for no other reason than this is a Thursday) I will post a quote and a picture. Revolutionary.

Why? Because other bloggers who want to blog more days do this. And it’s super easy. Like a blogger cheat day.

The content of these days may or may not be original works.

We will not always be quothing the raven, as the raven does not have much to say. We’d go mad if we only quothed the raven.

So I will quoth many things.

I will quoth people who’ve said things I deem worthy of quothing.

I will quoth books, songs, poems.

I will quoth car insurance.

I will quoth them in a box. I will quoth them with a fox.

And then I’ll post a picture along with it.

I know, I know. I’m a visionary. Take a moment to gather yourself.

The picture could be something I feel resonates with the quoth. Or it could be one I take. Nature shots. Stuff that amuses me. Shots of the inside of your house. I’ve got a great collection where I play with different lighting setups in your bedroom and bathroom. (You should really put that toilet brush to work.) And then some great candid shots of you. I like the ones where you’re sleeping. You look so peaceful, youthful.

Or maybe I’ll just post a meme.

Then maybe I’ll talk about that shit. Lay down some insights and wisdom on that quoth and meme/pic, yo. Maybe I won’t.

So let us begin with our first Quoth and picture.

I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

Kurt Cobain

Nirvana's Nevermind album cover parodied by bart simpson
For those unfamiliar, this is not Kurt Cobain. This is Bart Simpson. But if you are through reading this garbage, you can click the pic and listen to Nirvana’s Nevermind album.

I decided to do this post for no reason more than I saw Kurt Cobain’s quoth in passing, and it resonated (I’m a profoundly deep individual) with how I’ve been feeling lately. Reminded me of yesterday’s Shit Show. My semi-psychotic blog post/ramble/rant.

It ain’t easy bein’ crazy. Or cheesy.

Chester Cheeto snorting cheetos.
Bonus image. I don’t care that it’s blurry. It ain’t easy bein’… bloggy.

Also, I like Nirvana. And I have a Kurt Cobain biography displayed on my bookshelf. So… we’re done here. I’m gonna go be me. You go out there and be me as well. Be the best damned me you can be!

When you inevitably fail in living up to being me, be you.

Just be you.
